Down Syndrome Alabama

Empowers people with Down syndrome to live meaningful and full lives throughout all stages of life via programming aimed toward new parents, group advocacy, scholarship funds, connection through education and social outings, etc.

Grayson and Associates

Provides access to inpatient and outpatient services across Alabama. 5 of the 7 outpatient services are located in and around Birmingham. 7 hospitals offer inpatient services with those being Grandview Medical Center, St. Vincents East, Baptists Medical Center South, Crossbridge Behavioral Health, St. Vincent's Blount, St. Vincent's Chilton, St. Vincent's Clair, and Regional Medical Center

Aletheia House (Women and Children's Services)

Outpatient program, counseling, childcare, transportation, employment and housing assistance, life skills coaching, art therapy, residential treatment program, support program for pregnant women

YWCA Central Alabama

Social justice organization dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all through inititatives such as counseling, job skills training, child care services, temporary housing assistance, etc.

Children's Aid Society

Provide parents with skills and resources to keep families together, placing children in foster care or adoption when they cannot remain in the home, and empowering youth. Programming includes APAC Adoption Support, CAS Adoption Support, EPIC Parenting, Family Partners, Independent Living, and Project Independence

Aletheia House (Women and Children's Services)

Outpatient program, counseling, childcare, transportation, employment and housing assistance, life skills coaching, art therapy, residential treatment program, support program for pregnant women

Community Kitchens at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church

Religious organization. Serves as a food distribution center and community kitchen. The distribution center is open bi monthly and completely run off of donations. If there are no donations, they do not provide any services.

Triumph Youth and Adult Community Development

Meeting the needs of the community through the dispersement of fresh food from donors. Drive thru lines for pickup are available. Education and enrichment through wellness courses are also available.

JOBS by DHR

Operates in all 67 Alabama counties. Targeted for parents who receive financial assistance. The goal is to find and retain employment by addressing barrier such as access to quality child care, transportation, substance use, etc. There is also education regarding employability assessments, job readiness and skill training, etc. available.
